Preparing for Travel

This is all pretty new to me. I haven't ever really blogged before, but I thought it would be a good way to update everyone during my time in South Africa!

First of all, thank you for all of your prayers and encouragment throught the process of raising support and beginning this amazing journey with the Lord, I am so grateful. He has truly proven faithful.

In a few days I will be in Durban, South Africa (yes, world cup games are being played there!) If has been a long time coming, yet seems to have arrived so quickly. The more I fall in love with the Lord and his word and learn about his heart for the world, the more passionate I have grown toward reachign people with the Gospel. He has been preparing my heart some time for this trip, especially through these last couple summer months and I am incredibly excited for what he has in store! I am feeling a mixture of emotions as I really to not know what to expect when I arrive in Durban or even just in Atlanta for briefing. I am going to be around ALL new faces. I have a feeling the Lord is going to teach me a lot about dependence on Him this summer with the whole, first time going over seas and not knowing anyone thing and I cannot wait! I am excited and eager for growth and I'm confident the Lord will be teaching me all about Him in the coming weeks!

In other news, my brother arrived home for good as of 3am last night after being stationed in AZ in the Army for the past 4 years. I am overly excited to spend time with him, but I wish it were more than one short day before I leave tomorrow morning!

As for a trip itinerary, I leave tomorrow morning for Atlanta. I will have a short briefing with my team there and tehn we leave for Johannesburg around 7:45pm Thursday. From Johannesburg, we'll take a short flight to Durban, officially arriving at our destination by 9:45pm on Friday! I already have my bags packed! WOO!

blessings,
Lainey
